Flight of Sin: A Sonnet

By Jimita

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Like a cloudy day I wear our sin, gray skies shadow the heath. Yours, however, lies within like Dimmesdale, rotted beneath As one, our hearts briefly soared an ethereal spirit's flight. Consigned to ashes evermore recompense for passion's sight Tantalized, my soul burns unatoned as I await the phoenix return Once branded, forever owned devoid of earthly concern When barriers fall and renewed hopes arise our love sails translucent skies Written February 4th, 2002 © on Feb 03 2002 05:57 PM PST   0 • 8
