Death Before Life
By Jimmy
Death Before Life Tunnel vision, narrow sighted, Blind to love, always fight it, Streaks of gray throughout your hair, Wrinkle creases everywhere. Mind moves fast, but can't respond, All your thoughts, are way beyond, Life is short, windows past, Body slow; becoming trash. Time flies by, as sun goes down, Staring life, into the ground, Sounds go blank, as you ponder, My time to go, do you wonder? No bright lights, to see the way, Grim and black, the final day, Sweat beads up, as things grow dark, Heart beat pumps, but lost all spark. You finally see, the tunnel shines, Great bright light, for all to find, A rush of joy, flushed through your soul, Elation's warmth, not dark like coal. With smiles and glee, you pass thru, To reach the side, where all is true, For all is there, plus those you miss, Wrapped with love, to share your bliss. © J Fossier 9/981998, Written November 26th, 2001 © on Nov 26 2001 09:47 AM PST 0 • 13
