On Becoming Two

By JoffreEssley

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

So I hear you are turning two today I highly recommend it, and if I could repeat that age, with you I'd gladly spend it. We'd laugh and romp and giggle and play, and sigh at the moonlight, and rejoice in each ray. For your are a very special child, deserving a childhood, sweet and mild. But I know you want to have me my size for your only a child of  two a child who needs the hugs that dad lavishes freely on you So laugh and romp and giggle and play sigh at the moonlight, rejoice at each ray For you are daddy's special child deserving a childhood, sweet and mild.Written for the 2d birthday of my eldest, Elizabeth.
