! (for Wendy Hammond)

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

There's a jazz band playing in my head (& man, these cats sure do swing) I hear them every time I read the work of Wendy Words stand at attention until Wendy plays her tune & then they dance swing, ballet, & sometimes tap all enslaved by Wendy's rhythm she is playful often, sometimes seductive (never will I admit the way she turns me on) & she knows how to bring a flood of tears to even a hardened heart like mine Her tune continues; & my restless feet tap a drumbeat on the floor & my head shakes in admiration; Wendy sure does swing!I thought someone here deserved a tribute. Ms. muze, I hope you like this. Written December 13th, 2001 © on Dec 13 2001 06:12 AM PST   10 • 0
