Prayer For Jen

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I know you don't hear from me often not even in times of crisis but, please hear me out; I don't want much just a request for a gentle friend the one I turn to when I need to turn my sorrow to smiles or laughter the one bursting with love and kindness for distant friends the one who brings the light and warmth of sunshine to this place Today, she's in a place where fear and sorrow rain down on her tears flow down her cheeks and in all the distant lands where she is known tears flow for her My request: peace for her; please dry her tears and give her a reason to smile hold her hand and tell her once more that she is loved give her hope that she will survive these days as she's lived through darkness before and come back to light with added strength bring out the courage she needs to fight this latest battle against tragic circumstance and bring her back to this place so she can continue to share her joy and wisdom with friends like me and lastly, when this time is over, grant her a reprieve- too many sorrows have fallen upon her, please stop the rainA clumsy effort, but heartfelt. For bigmammajen, and those who love her. Written January 8th, 2002 © on Jan 08 2002 01:30 AM PST   10 • 0
