Here I Am

By Jonathan Wikkins

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Here I am     just a man…           A man,     in love with a woman… Today I am here as someone,     who wishes to love,           as I know how… I hope you can accept it,     for I wish for you to have it… For if you can,     you will find,           a love as you may               have never known… It will be a love,     given freely,           with just a small hope               of return… It will be a love,     that lasts for all eternity… Please find a way     to accept me as I am… For I will accept you,     as you are… And I will love you     like no other,           has ever been loved,               truly loved… So here I am,     offering something to you… Please consider,     for it is only for you… I have released my love,     that I have felt,           for someone I lost,               suddenly, completely,                     just a short time ago… Please accept the fact,     that I know how to love,           truly, honestly,               for I learned how,                     so long ago… Here I am,     just a man… In love with a woman,     who wishes to say: “I love you.” I now and will always say this     to you, with the conviction           it deserves… I love you completely, honestly,     with all my heart… I love you… © Jonathan Wikkins November 6th, 2001 Revised March 6, 2008 All Rights ReservedWritten November 6th, 2001 © on Nov 06 2001 02:03 PM PST, David Michael Shurtleff   love
