In Memoriam

By Jonathan Wikkins

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

It’s been so long,     since last I saw you… Perhaps one day,     we will see each other,           once again… I remember so much,     now, of what we had… It was so special,     so loving, such a wonderful life,           together… My life has been     somewhat of a shambles           since then… I’m getting better,     my love,           I truly am… I’ve made many mistakes,     many wrong turns… I’ve lost out     on “good” opportunities,           jumped in on “bad” ones… But I guess that’s life,     we make mistakes… As I said many times,     from right after your death… I’ll always love you… I’ll always miss you… I’ll always wish it hadn’t happened… And I’ll always wonder     what was coming next… To you, I say,     in loving memory,           of you, my wife… You will never be far     from my thoughts… Your name will always     be near my tongue… Rest assured, you will never     be forgotten… Please wait for me… Come for me,     when my day comes… Where we will spend     the rest of eternity,           together… You and I… © Jonathan Wikkins April 19, 2002 Revised March 3, 2008 All Rights ReservedWritten April 20th, 2002 © on Apr 19 2002 04:46 PM PST, David Michael Shurtleff   hope • life • love • pain • personal • sad
