In My Heart

By Jonathan Wikkins

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

In my heart     there dwells           a special lady… She has watched over me     for quite some time now. She constructed a door,     to my heart,           she knew one day,               she would open it,                     and welcome someone in… Recently she did,     for someone knocked           upon the door to my heart,               it was opened wide,                     and she welcomed her in,                         with open arms… She is someone special,     someone new,           she will dwell there,               till the end of my days… Together we will find     happiness,     love,     respect,           and     goodness in life… We will live life together,     one day           as man and wife… We do not yet know,     which one of us           will go first,               of course… But when it happens,     someone will be waiting,           on the other side,               for the one of us                     that goes first,                         and                     there they will wait,                         for the other one… We will live this life to the fullest… We will say “I love you”     many, many times… With a hug,     and a kiss,           we will spend our lives together,               we will know that,                     whenever the one                         who goes first,                               that we were loved,                                   above all else,                                         and                                   we will be waited for… We will know this,     because,           that is what love               truly is… © Jonathan Wikkins December 6th, 2001 Revised February 10, 2008 All Rights Reserved Written December 6th, 2001 Revised February 10, 2008 © on Dec 06 2001 04:30 AM PST, David Michael Shurtleff   spiritual
