Moving On

By Jonathan Wikkins

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

When you left,           you took with you,               so much of me,                     there wasn't much left...   I have rebuilt much of that,           but the hole you left in my heart,               remains till this very day...   To move on...     To find what I miss...     Difficult, at best...   For when you lose,           what I lost, so quickly,               so suddenly...                     for seemingly no reason...   A part of you,           dies too...   Then one day, you realize,           what you must do...   You MUST move on...     Find again...   For that is what,           they want,                     for those,                         they left behind...   Moving on...     You make mistakes…           You're vulnerable…               You can easily                     be taken advantage of...   But, still, you must move on…   For if you do not...           You become,               The living dead...               © Jonathan Wikkins November 3rd, 2001               Revised February 10, 2008               All rights reserved Written November 3rd, 2001 Revised February 10, 2008 © on Nov 03 2001 11:50 AM PST, David Michael Shurtleff   spiritual
