O Death

By Jonathan Wikkins

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Why did you come to me? Your face is on my mind. Oh death,     why me? What did I ever do     to deserve such as you? Oh death,     why me? Perhaps there will be no answer,     or one later coming… Oh death,     why me? Why did you take someone,     so very special to me? Oh death,     why me? Is there someone I’d never meet;     if not for her death? Oh death,     why me? Is she that little voice inside of me,     who seems to be telling me,           what’s right and what’s not?
