O Mountain...

By Jonathan Wikkins

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

O Mountain,     what am I to do? I am so alone now… Have I done     the right things for me? O Mountain,     has she been           that little voice,               within me? Trying to steer me straight? O Mountain,     what am I to do? There has been one since,     is she the one for me? Did we do it right,     or just think we did? O Mountain,     if she is not,           then lead me               to the one for me… O Mountain,     if she IS the one,           for me,               then lead me… To where,     I need to go… To what,     I need to do… To what,     I need to say… O Mountain,     lead her also… To go,     where she needs to go… To what,     she needs to do… To what,     she needs to say… O Mountain,     if she is NOT the one,           help us both… For we will need,     all the help           we can get… For there will be     much sorrow,           much pain,               much anger,                     and               many, many other things… O Mountain,     what am I to do? © Jonathan Wikkins November 1st, 2001 Revised February 21, 2008 All Rights Reserved i wrote this one a couple of months ago, there is a mountain near where i live the natives consider sacred... a famous statement around town "look to the mountain" Written November 1st, 2001 © on Nov 01 2001 01:16 PM PST, David Michael Shurtleff   angst
