To Life

By Jonathan Wikkins

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Life takes many turns, Some good, some not… The more it beats upon us, The more difficult it is, to return… Time is required, new things are a must… We never know, when we give away, Our hearts, if we will get them back… Or if all the pieces will be returned… Life can renew, no matter what… Love can reenter, when the time is right… Love can make us whole, It can also devastate us… Hopes can be dashed, as if against a rock, Dreams can be killed, as if stabbed… Honor, and dignity must be maintained… Self control, can never be lost… Difficult at best… Our inner selves, the one we show, To no one… Must be buried, never dug up… No matter what… To life, again… When it is due… © Jonathan Wikkins 2001 All Rights ReservedWritten November 29th, 2001 © on Nov 29 2001 07:17 AM PST, David Michael Shurtleff   spiritual
