I used to be quieter than I am nowHiding in the corner without a wordMore worried about what people thoughtI do not care as much, not anymoreShe is teaching me how to be braveShe's like the guy in her favorite showThe one with purple eyes and a braidHe's always smiling, joking like herHer hair is short, brown with blondeHer eyes are brighter than anyone'sThere's a string tied to her backpackI tug on it to get her attentionHer binder is full of anime picturesMine is full of pictures she's drawnOur heads are both full of storiesWe both like to write, oft' togetherShe's the strongest person I knowI wish I could smile just as muchPeople want to know why she's loudOr why she says she's the QueenShe doesn't need a reason, never hasI call her A-chan, she's my friendAfter reading my Challenge poem 'I Don't Wear Black' A-chan wanted a poem about her.
