Jester Bells
By K chan
A little falter of my footsteps Tripping along the ledge A little falter of my footsteps Am I too close to the edge? And the world is so bright You look but I am out've sight I'm dancing on pointed toes Hidden right beneath your nose It wasn't my intention To escape your attention But your eyes were crossed, your vision halved I only giggled whenever you laughed My blue sneakers, his jester bells Hidden lies and magic spells Willow-tree tears and never-tells I hate the broken farewells A little falter of my footsteps Tripping along the ledge A little falter of my footsteps Am I too close to the edge? Masks and masks - I want one for me Little trinkets flung crazily A tiny limp, a thousand scars Bloodied feathers beneath the stars I hate to say it, your timing wasn't right You startled me into flight Sharp teeth and shadows; this is all so new I'm only here for one thing, and dearest .. that's you.An odd little song for one of my RP characters; she's singing about the fact that she and her big brother have been so much that they're both "faltering on the ledge," or close to losing it. He already snapped and wears jester's clothing, and the last line refers to his comment that he's only here because she is, and another's comment that if he was gone, she would be too. Some of the other stuff is connected with their general situation - she has wings, a small limp, scars; they were fooled by someone who wore a mask and betrayed them, and whenever she cries she goes to hide beneath a weeping willow so no one will find her. Okay, yeah. It's really weird. Even the tune I've set it to is kind've crazy .. But I wanted to put it up, that I did. Written January 13th, 2002 © on Jan 13 2002 09:19 PM PST 20 • 0 • 10
