What is what?

By Kabuki

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Eternity... maddening to think of. The past is gone, and eternity is never that. The vicious cycle of it all... and will it even have mattered? Never quite seeing around that bend, trudging on forever hopeful. Hurt forgotten, freedom everlasting, never oppressed, never alive... What a sweet, sweet existence, to live in the void, but I guess... In the void you never existed.I wrote the first draft of this poem 7/29/98...rather young at the time. Oddly enough, the feelings are still there, so I decided to revise it slightly. I'm not looking for anything in particular here. It doesn't make sense...but neither does the concept of eternity. Maybe it does make sense, but I cannot grasp that concept. Written April 21st, 2002 © on Apr 21 2002 12:00 PM PST   18 • 0 • 10
