Sonnet I
By Kai
What sweet strength found in such a mortal grace, That divine inspiration did instill. Which strengthens a man in such mortal race, And, brought forth from their Love, also, his Will. In this, such a lovely beauty, bestrides, The Lord of Love's most wondrous creation, As he sequesters not her restless tide, For her to give her kind ministrations. When first the True Man beheld with his eyes, That which Adam, in truth, first saw in Eve, Her strident fire of life which never dies, Caused him to forget his heart's anxious need. These same kinds of thoughts came down from on high, When first I saw your awe-inspiring light. Written February 19th, 2002 © on Mar 25 2002 06:49 AM PST 0 • 8
