What do you mean I protested so loudly“Me? A pain in the bum”Stop stamping your foot in a temperAnd please stop looking so glumI know you want ice-cream and jellyAnd I really would like to say yesBut at quarter past nine in the morningI really don’t think it’s the bestI’m sorry you cant have the hot-dogOr the chocolate on hot buttered toastI’m really a horrible auntyI bet I’m the one that you dislike the mostOh no!.. the madam is learningShe’s turned on the puppy dog lookShe thinks I’ll give in and surrenderBut I can read this babe like a bookHere come the words that I’m dreadingOh please aunty ka’ you’re the bestI love you this much she says sweetlyNow this is the grand final testBut babe I begin.. and she whimpersThe tears are threatening to fallThe lip is curled three times underThis is gonna be a difficult haulI’m focused and ready for battleThen she delivers her weapon at bestShe runs into my arms filled with loveAnd bury’s her head in my chestI’m finished!, its over!, she’s beat meA child not much older than threeAnd we sit watching barney togetherEating Hot-dogs and chocolate jelly Written October 20th, 2001 © on Oct 20 2001 05:32 AM PST   0 • 14
