Wishing On stars
By KC Kay
I sat upon the step that night And gazed up at the stars I closed my eyes and made a wish Yet it wasn't about fancy cars I thought it was a simple wish A wish that would come true Yet the more I thought about my crazy wish I realized, I would never have you You were Mr. Perfect And I was far from that I had the hair I had the eyes But some considered me fat I knew I would never hold you Well, maybe in my dreams at night But how could I let go? It was love at first sight Giving up was so not me But I felt I had no other choice I went to bed that night Sorrow in my voice When I awoke the next morning My dream had brought some cheer I dreamed of you holding me Calling me names like sweety and dear I went to school that morning A smile upon my face I wore jeans and a sweater Made of pretty lace I had many chances I saw you throughout the whole day Yet when you walked torward me I quiclky walked away The school day was almost over I had one last chance I took a deep breath The butterflies in my stomach began to dance I walked toward you casually I placed a smile upon my face When your eyes met mine My heart began to race After standing there awhile I quickly blurted out 'Look I really like you' 'Do you wanna go out?' You looked so surprised I couldn't help but laugh You turned red and smiled And you too began to laugh We sat upon the steps tonight And gazed up at the stars We held eachothers hands tight And wished upon the stars You turned to me and smiled I felt a touch of bliss It was then you leaned forward And gave me my first kiss I was lost in emotions And realized wishes do come true I know now to wish on stars When I want things like you Written August 29th, 2001 © on Aug 29 2001 03:54 PM PST 0 • 8
