Rebecca, Chapter 2:
By Kei lynn
Rebecca had gotten home alright jumping down from the horse she tied the rope to the pole by the front door. Her grandfather and father raced out to see their new live stock. Her father picked her up and spun her as her grandfather looked at the horses. Grandfather smiled, "What beautiful ponies. I must say you've out done yourself, Sprout." He patted Rebecca on the shoulder, "Look at this horse," He pointed at Magic, "The tecture and maitnence is wonderful. Tell Angel she's a pure saint!" He smiled at Rebecca. Rebecca smiled as her father looked at the horses, "I'm sure she knows Grandfather." Rebecca took the basket inside the house. "Mama, send the boys out to get the seed. Make sure they don't spill like last year. I'll take little Toni out to the pond and get him washed." Rebecca smiled at mother. Her mother turned her head to Rebecca, "Dear feed the chickens before you leave and Uncle Tommy is hear I want you to walk to him and say your kindest Hullo, he's going threw hard times, flower." She kissed her fore head and patted her away. Rebecca wandered off to see Uncle Tommy, he was no where to be found so she went to fetch Toni. Toni was sitting on the floor in the attic besides a big hairy male. She yelled, "Uncle Tommy!" Her arms swung around the man and latched. He smiled at her with warm and kind eyes. "Oh! I must tell you! Kyle and Angel are doing well with the shop! I've betten half the boys in my class and the other hald are scared of me! I've learned how to play the flute you gave me and I can't wait to show you my rabbits!" She was out of breathe by the time she was threw. Tommy laughed heartily, "I'm so happy to hear it. Now Flower point me in the direction of the water hole and I"ll be off to it with Young Toni then I'll come back and talk to you for a few moments." He winked at me. I told him, go down Hickory Path and then jump onto the stones 3 hops left and 2 right then get on Oak road. You're there in secounds. Rebecca skipped back downstairs. She picked up the chicken feed and walked out the door, All she could see was flames. Rebecca dropped her basket and raced to the barn. THe flame was high and mighty. She ran inside and grabbed some chicked and geese then raced out. The horses were out in the pasture at least. She had finally finished and the fire was burning out. It was terrifying but she didn't let on her afraidness. Her attention spun to the shouts of the village. The yells moved closer. She ran toward the house and suddenly she was scooped up. She saw the ground for a few secounds but then she was out cold, as her thoughts drown in the intense pain in her ribs. Written April 1st, 2002 © on Apr 01 2002 02:45 AM PST, Melinda Hatfield 0 • 10
