Blending into the World
By KissTheSkyPH
I’m sorry I leave bloodstains on the tile. I’m sorry I cry wolf when I’m all alone at night. I’m sorry I can’t even take care of a goldfish. I’m sorry I kill red roses at the very first touch. I’m sorry I can’t hold sand between my fingers. I’m sorry I can’t breathe fire nearly as potent as a dragon’s. I’m sorry I wake you in the night to turn your dreams to nightmares. I’m sorry I kiss princes and turn them into frogs. I’m sorry I get caught in my own webs. I’m sorry I imagine sweeter scents into being. I’m sorry I paint sunsets than can never appear before mortal eyes. I’m sorry I can’t talk so well on the phone. I’m sorry I don’t have enough poison in my veins to be more like you. I’m sorry I can’t quite master the vice of adaptation. Written November 12th, 2001 © on Nov 11 2001 04:18 PM PST 18 • 0 • 10
