Still Read Your Poem Every Night
By KissTheSkyPH
If you didn’t want A kiss to last a life time Then you shouldn’t have Blown me the words That matched ecstacy With “till death do us part”. You never meant To hold and to have And now your revocation Rings through my ears But can’t surgically remove These strings across my heart. You embroidered “forever” On my soul And then dropped me like a rag But my eyes still bear the crest Of our initials. You know I’ve always saved My brightest colors for you. Just let me wipe the strife from your brow One more time…"Take thy beak from out my heart and take thy form from off my door!" -Poe, the Raven Written November 16th, 2001 © on Nov 16 2001 11:21 AM PST 18 • 0 • 8
