Thank You Mr. Anonymous
By KissTheSkyPH
Dear Sir You stumbled across my path today And piled my limp arms full Of snapshot frames. You said they were a memorial To your late wife-- A gallery, A mosaic of a life, A mosaic of a love, A tribute to compassion. I’m sorry you lost her But today you saved a Poor Anonymous Life. A poor exchange I’m sure from your perspective. You strolled in the door And a tiny bell hailed your arrival. An angel may not have gotten its wings But a crippled butterfly received a future. “You are a wonderful, good person.” You instilled a mantra in my mind And because I wouldn’t sing that song myself You reminded me Twenty three times. A smile and a nod threw me an Affirming end To this eternal 15 minutes. They weren’t your fame But they were your brightest moments. You said I’d be seeing you again. You shop here often. Maybe when you come back For tools to expand your shrine You’ll remember Poor Anonymous Me. Then maybe I can give you The angel wings you deserve. You saved an undeserving life today. You saved an underserving me. Written November 14th, 2001 © on Nov 14 2001 04:52 PM PST 18 • 0 • 12
