She sits there in the cold Alone Afraid She sees him in the distance Ominous Foreboding She curls herself tight, holding her knees Praying Pleading She hopes he doesn’t notice, can not sense her Fearing Dreading He moves in closer, within reach Slowing Sensing He feels something in the air Sorrow Torment She holds her breath, pulls herself tighter Anxious Apprehensive He slows his steps, listens to the wind Blowing Dancing He hears a tear drop, and turns his head Silence Screaming She closes her eyes, overtaken with fear Petrified Frozen He reaches down, touches her face Puzzled Perplexed Slowly she looks up, sees him Surprise Relief He takes her in his arms Caring Concern They walk off together Understanding Forgiving Written February 22nd, 2002 © on Feb 22 2002 05:22 AM PST 0 • 10
