Crimes of Divorce
By Ladybug
Let me count the ways to a dark and unseen way Freedom at last.... to do whatever you like Guilt sets the stage What if I had What if I had not As I sleep less and eat no more Years pass so slow The children grow as fast as the grass Time waits only for the next check Loss of hair, loss of teeth The insurance that once was Is now no more Cash will only go so far The days are long and empty Not much laundry in the hamper The schools feed our kids As we scrape together enough coins for the meter Work is work no matter what company the name is A long sigh of relief As the children smile and hug Mommie The crimes of Divorce Are Many Some may avoid the trap Some may heal their wounds But the guilt, does it ever leave? Can time really heal these scars Not visible to anyone's eye The ones that play your heart strings And sting the eye Loved you were not Missed you are not Crimes of a divorcejust rambling, no pity required shedding some old memories of yesteryears Written April 13th, 2002 © on Apr 13 2002 01:54 PM PST, Tamara White Pepper 0 • 1
