The Wind Is Calling

By Ladybug

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

So long ago... I sat listening to the wind call my name A new direction, new location where the rain is plentiful Now I gaze upon this new land Amazed of the colors upon it, red, orange, blues and greens Near a wide open field The sunset is magnificant in hues of gold and blues the warmth of the sun shines brightly over the lake On the back porch I sit in a swing, listening to the wind calling my name Earth so plentiful pecan, oak, pine trees The cardinal sings As the bluebird test their perch I love this land where my heart sings I hear the wind calling my name Written March 23rd, 2002 © on Jun 18 2002 06:41 AM PST, Tamara White Pepper   10 • 0 • 9
