Right Before You Jump...
By LadyDame
* This poem was inspired by my older brother. I was at my moms and asked someone to give me a first line to a poem. My brother blurted out,'Right before you jump!' I think that he was thinking about snowboarding, just getting back from his trip and all. But this is what I thought and in minutes I had an almost final piece. I hope you liked it and above all I hope that it was inspiring. (I myself have never had such thoughts!)Thanks,Lady DameRight before you jumpTake a look at your lifeJudge it fairlyAll you trials and errorsFor if you do not contemplate every condition of every deedThen salvation may not be yours at the end of your begotten roadRight before you jumpLook deep inside your soulWeigh the darkness and the lightThe good and the evilFor if the darkness surpasses the lightThen your trial here is far from finishedAnd if the light reigns true inside of youThen your life has already been a successWhat will death bring that life cannot give?Right before you jumpSay your prayers, look to the skyFeel the world and the enormity of this situationHave you been hurt too bad to live onOr have you violated life in a way That what you've done just cannot be forgiven?Either way the choice is yoursThink on it before you decideRight before you jumpTake a deep breathFeel the movement of life flow deep with in youKnow that you are aliveThat you are a human beingAnd can make a differenceFor yourself and for the worldRight before you jumpKnow that this is a deed hard to forgiveWhen God asks why, what will you tell him? What if you are not allowed through the gates into heaven?Ask yourself what is more importantA successful lifeOr the same trial all over againYou can only find a way out onceNext time it won't be so easyRight before you jumpLet all thought flee from your mindBury all your feelings in the pit of your stomachAnd forget who you are leaving behindThis is what you've always wantedIsn't it?Right before you jumpKnow that I love you and in timeI can wash away all your painHere I am at your sideTake my handI'll kiss away all your tearsAnd show you a new tomorrowTrust meI believe in youSlowly he steps down from the bridgeFingers entwinedFootsteps matched to a perfect beatMan and womanWalk away togetherThe setting sun outlines two formsDisappearing into the rays of lightThey live on together... for all time.I believe that words can make the biggest impact on someone. Perhaps not always. But it does not hurt to try. Written January 22nd, 2002 © on Jan 22 2002 03:50 AM PST 0 • 10
