Truth
By Linrose
The lifeless tree stood amidst those clothed in green life and which chose ~ To radiate their energy onto the surrounding grove; What of the lone tree, whose gnarled branches once strove to reach the heights, beyond its brothers, While they rounded out like complacent mothers; As their energies intermingled, The lone tree remained singled in its quest to reach above ~ The green canopy of love; Its full branches radiated life onto its comrades below, Who were oblivious of the part it played in their show; It faced the harsh elements, accepting all from above ~ Shunning the comfort and protection of earthly love; In the end, its magnificence was unsurpassed ~ Its mission accomplished, it chose at last ~ To return its essence from whence it came, Leaving behind, a black form, a tree merely in name; There it stood amongst the others, in seeming defeat ~ But if truth were known, for which had life been more sweet? For what is truth ~ but that which is known in one’s being, Not necessarily that which others are seeing. Next time you walk through the woods and discover a dead tree, standing humbly amidst the others, Listen with care ~ To hear whispers of truth, if you dare.
