Mommy

Mommy... You've been there for me through thick and thin. Cleaned my cuts when I was little, gave me a shoulder to cry on now, You've given up so much to be there for me, Your job, your own life. When I needed a teacher, you threw everything aside and took on the task, You never regretted having me as your shadow. Always by your side, hiding behind your skirts. You comforted me when life got to tough, wiping my tears and telling me I would be alright That inflictions healed, and wounds can be forgotten. You always told me problems happen and we always survive, you reminded me that constantly. When I needed a warrior, you always rose to the occasion. Taking care of me when I was ill, becoming my teacher when life got to hard. I always took that for granted, knowing that my mother was always there, Now that you're hardly around it makes me sad. Makes me wish I see you more often again, and not for only a few hours a night But work is work and thats what you do, Now that I'm better you're back as you were before. A working mother, my mother. I love you for what you gave up, to comfort me these last years. To make sure I'd make it. With one year to go until graduation, I've made it this far with your help And I thank you for it until the day I die. Love Always, TrishaThis is a poem I written for my mother. She gave up so much for me and I never can quite say "Thank you" enough times Written January 16th, 2002 © on Jan 16 2002 08:38 AM PST 18 • 0 • 8
