Individuality
By Lone Poet
You think 'cause I haven't experienced catastrophes, that I don't feel sorrow my eyes cry silent tears like the rest of you, my mind comprehends all yours does you think 'cause I never suffered a major loss, that I don't feel grief my heart aches just like yours, my soul grieves same as yours you think 'cause I've yet to endure torture, that I don't feel pain you think 'cause I didn't give birth, that I don't know what it means to be happy everyone is different, but equally unique and so are our life's battles, triumphs and losses and I've lived all the joy and all the sorrow and pain, the only difference is the person feeling it - and that's unique you may think your problems are worse than mine, or more serious or more important, or more deserving of empathy ours are no better, nor worse than the next guy's my memories and experiences are special to me; to feel is to be human, to feel nothing is to be stone-cold dead (c) 9/01 SmS Written February 4th, 2002 © on Feb 04 2002 12:51 PM PST, Sheryl Marcia Schwartz 18 • 11 • 1
