It's Human Nature

By Lone Poet

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

It’s human nature to grovel in fear Of anything not easily understood It’s humanity's nature to love, revere All that's made of flesh and blood It’s human nature to feel raging anger To hate when confronted by opposing views It’s man's nature to ignore pain and danger To be careless, sing the melancholy blues It’s human nature to manipulate, control The native world that lives and breathes It’s a mortal's natural law to have flaws And pray, though not everyone believes It’s human nature to render our timely dues Repay the fated piper at his beckon call It’s our nature to thrive on awful news Surrender away our sublime ripened souls It’s mankind's nature to laugh and cry Then spit in the macabre face of death It’s the human race’s nature not to die But to survive long after its last breath (c) 10/01, 3/04 SmsIt's human nature to write poems.
