Nature's Revenge
By Lone Poet
Mother Nature has her way Of seeking vengeance on Man, We pollute her sacred land every day Not part of Gaia's higher plan Our blatant lack of self-respect, Hiding behind evil, greed, and shame Seedlings drown in tidal waves of neglect, Not part of humankind's grand game Selfless and divine won't win Blame won't do us any good, We mortals are so full of sin Hell's flames burnt all our food Earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, smoggy skies, Forsaking helpless children and animals of joy When will these uncivilized beasts ever realize, That forests and rivers weren't meant to destroy? Took any free haven we could find And gave back not one honorable thing, Terrorists went and blew out peace's mind As Democracy's finger pulled fate's trigger Someday this whole sorry planet will blow Nobody who's still alive will want to be found, Disease, war, hate, and pain are all we know, The only sound will be bombs hitting the ground No love, no babies, no pets, no fun, No heaven, no oceans, moon, sun, stars Only fools with missiles, knives and guns, An army of crusaders feathered and tarred Comes the world's end, Earth's final judgment day Will we naively bow down upon our knees and pray, Or will we all just turn around and slowly walk away? Can our unworthy eternal souls be saved anyway? (c) 9/19/01, 3/05/04 SmSJust some ponderings on the world today.
