Times of Past

By Lone Poet

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Have I existed before, in uncertain times of war? misty feelings hard to describe, was I a bard or eloquent scribe? times of past, days of yore, what were we fighting for? was it the way of honor and peace, or did all human life just cease? never knowing who I am, a fearless lion or a timid lamb? how I lived, where I've been, where I'm headed, in my mind's lower recesses, vividly haunting memories imbedded never going back again to the gnarled past, eternal paths intertwined, crossed forevermore gone are tears of unending strife and feudal uproar, years of infernal wrath discarded, yet human spirit everlasts; mine's lost in a still life of pain, stuck between repeat and forward fast (c) 6/01, 3/04 SmS~~~I'm told I am an old soul.  A Renaissance woman.~~~ Written February 9th, 2002 © on Feb 09 2002 09:00 AM PST, Sheryl Marcia Schwartz   12 • 11 • 1
