To Be Dead (I Want To Believe)

By Lone Poet

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I wonder what it's like to be dead, does a disembodied person feel his head? can corpses sense anything at all, do we even possess an eternal soul? where do we go once we decease, when we get there, will we be at peace? can some folks really see ghosts, or are they just delusions at the most? I so want to believe, but it hurts to grieve and strange as it seems, I get prophetic dreams fascinating as it is to be dead, I'd still rather be alive, instead to breathe fresh air is all I need, human being of flesh and bone, I bleed we, the living, are lucky but don't know, how nice it is to hear the autumn wind blow to lick a sweet drop of snow or spring rain, or feel a beating heart, think with a brain... Like perennial flowers, life continues to grow. (c) 8/01, 3/04 SmS"I WANT TO BELIEVE!!" - XFiles Written February 6th, 2002 © on Feb 05 2002 03:18 PM PST, Sheryl Marcia Schwartz   12 • 5 • 1
