“Poetic Emotions”

By Mac

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

The passion of a poet Burns brighter than a flame The flame has no heart At least none it can name The love of a poet Grows higher than the sky For the sky has a limit And raindrop tears to cry The heart of a poet Fills fuller than the words The words restricted to language Some no longer heard The tears of a poet Flow deeper than a lake The lake governed by river Or locked in by mistake The anger of a poet Can darken the stars The stars confined to night Caged in midnight bars The sorrow of a poet Wails upon the wind The wind blowing free Never to find an end The poems of a poet Written from within As are the emotions Less would be a sin Written October 4th, 2001 © on Oct 04 2001 12:31 PM PST, RD McManes   0 • 10
