~ I Read Him and Think
By Manicmuze
I read him and think- of when love abounds, little girl searching- he carried me home, along riversides, across maiden springs, little girl searching- a whispering ring, I read him and say, in ‘hope for morrow’, a gentle verse sings I read him and think- of ‘thanks not given’, when home was a poem- he showed me the way- ‘two little socks’ cry, and I am a tear, when home is a poem- hung idle to dry, I read him and say ‘Broken Man’ of dreams stand, be seen shining I read him and think- poetic at heart, a woman once chained- he carried the rain- to wash it away, ‘human progression’, a woman unchained- so softly defined, I read him and say, ‘Exquisite’ his mind, Wisdom beyond time. I read him and think- his thoughts undisguised, I was a poet- he lifted my soul- above waters hole, articulate rhyme, I am a poet- his voice lingers true, I read him and say ‘meaning of my life’, never forgotten.
