~ In Flight

By Manicmuze

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Eighteen, I knew everything. Lust has no power steering, you go where ever it takes you. Running with the moment, like there would be no others. His eyes were climbing fast, and I was ready for the roller coaster ride of a lifetime. …..Look Mom—No Hands Coasting, through love’s routine stuck in-between.  Twenty-seven without courage or choice. Conscience has all the power, it makes you stay when you should go. Turning away from the moment, bending just to bend. Convinced there would be no more sudden rushes. But still I wasn’t ready to ride the ride alone. …..Look Mom—No Glory Flying, with strong wings and awakenings. Thirty-something, I have all the power I need to hug the curves and breathe. Freedom came the moment the mirror began forgiving things. …..Look Mom—No Strings Written January 6th, 2002 © on Sep 21 2002 06:37 AM PST, Wendy Hammond   0 • 10
