She Said, He Replied

She said to him: Hold back, don't fall in love with me, I cannot be trusted with your heart. My emotions are used up, I have nothing left to give. Heed my words of caution. I am not the glimmer that love hides behind; I am the darkness of emotions long dead. My walls are too strong for you to breach. Do not attempt the climb. Because I see what your heart cannot say; what you will not allow your heart to say. You have boundless love, let it loose. The hurts and pain of yesterday are past. Let the ties that bind you become unraveled till they fall away and you are free. I will make an altar of the crumbled stone walls to sacrifice your fears . Disappointments go up in smoke dissipated by the winds of change. One step my way is all you need to take. I will be there to catch you if you falter. No longer will you walk alone.
