Be good to us
When others hurt us we forgive them; So why not forgive ourselves; Instead we lay tons of abuse; Upon our poor mind’s shelves. The way beat up on ourselves; Really should be a crime; The slightest little mistake; And we ridicule every time. How often do we look in the mirror; And like what we see; How often do we treat ourselves; How often am I good to me? Our goals for us are often high; More than we can reach; When we fail to meet those goals; Self-condemnation is what we preach. Let take some time to be good to us; For we take us everywhere we go; If all we do is beat ourselves; Our self-esteem will always be low.
