I Don't Dance Anymore
By Maureen
I loved to dance the polka, Twirling round and round, When my mother spun me really fast, My feet would leave the ground. Then, when a special man said, "May I have this dance?" Listening to a lovely song, I danced and found romance. We square danced with our friends, So much fun! It was a riot! I loved to yell "Yee-Haw!" (And I used to be so quiet!) Things are different now, I'm sorry to say. Our friends no longer call, My Mom has passed away. I have time to sit and think And wonder what life is for. I thought I knew the answer once.. But now, I don't dance anymore. Written September 1st, 2001 © on Aug 31 2001 04:34 PM PST, Maureen Halasovski 0 • 1
