Summertime
By Maureen
Hungry little critters abound in my back yard, munching on the bird seed and bread that's gotten hard. The blue jays and the cardinals, the robins and the doves, the sparrows and the chickadees are birds this watcher loves. Then there are the rabbits, some big and some so small, playful chipmunks having fun, squirrels standing proud and tall. My back yard's like Disneyland! I wonder at the sight of fireflies that light my world with their entrancing flight! Can't forget the crickets, unseen but all around, seducing me to sleep with their soothing sound. Dreamily, I gaze at trees and twinkling stars above, thankful that it's summertime, the season I so love! Feed them and they will come!
