Life's Race

By midniteblu

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Wind whips my face as I shove along. Struggling to climb the steps that lead to my happiness. My eyes gaze heavenward and I see nothing but blackness. Praying for daybreak... Surrounded by storm clouds. My body, heavy with lead, slowly falls. Eternal sleep is my fate. My struggle, my destiny, my life, my death... The pain, the strife, the blood, the sweat... It's all a part of me as I run my race to uncertain finish line. Written January 11th, 2002 © on Jan 11 2002 06:17 AM PST   10 • 0 • 1
