Pain of Love
You've been torn apart. You want to believe again, But this pain envelopes you, It holds you in it's ugly grasp. Try as you might to break free, It wraps it's ugly arms around your heart. You try to trust once more, But the fear will not let it be. The wound is still too sore. You reach out in search of love, But the pain is too harsh It will not let you see. One day, you will find the key That will release these shackles, And set you free. Then all this will become Just a painful memory. Until then, you continue to search, You look and try to find another. But the fear closes in. You try to reach out, to love once more. Then the pain moves in and takes over. It is still there, too close. It has not yet become a memory. Written May 1st, 2000 © on Nov 10 2001 05:39 AM PST 18 • 0 • 8
