True Friendship
True friendship is a gift from God. A true friend is one who is there always, Through the good times and bad. Someone who will stand by me no matter what If I am lonely and sad, There you are, To lift me up and make me smile. A friend gives of herself freely, And expects nothing in return. You are that friend. You have lifted me up from the darkest times, And given me light to see. You have been there when I have been at my worst And you never complained. You have told me what I needed to hear, Not what I wanted to hear. You have put me back on the right path When I have sometimes strayed. When I have thought there was no one for me, There you were. You have shared my smiles, my heartaches, my lonliness. No matter what life has to offer, be it good or bad, There you are right by my side.
