A poet's prayer
By missmfa
This road that has been chosen for me Is paved with broken glass and insufficient apathy. I pray for glass-proof shoes. I pray for tranquilizers for my Muse. This sky under which I'm required to fly Is dotted with fatigue and pessimistic fliers-by. I pray for a spare right arm. I pray for Sadistic Critics to come to harm. These waters that I currently live in Are lifeless and unclean. I pray for my very own Life Boat. I pray for a variety of pure thoughts. This prayer that I'm praying Cannot end without me saying I pray for a lifetime supply of AlphaBetiCal letters. I pray for a lifetime supply of pen, paper and publisher. Amen.
