The door of my mind was kicked open. From the other side of the fence in flowed Waves upon waves upon waves Of understanding. I was drowning in the waves. They thought they saw me wave But I was crying out for help. Crying out for help Cause I was caught in society's kelp. But the waves washed away the wrongs And the waves washed away the whys And the waves washed away the whens So that time disappeared into a drain And there was no night, no day, no rain No snow, no wind, no clouds, no heat. Just waves upon waves upon waves Of understanding. And the waves carried me into a space Where I saw the word become a face. A face with features and feelings. A face with wrinkles. Wavy, weighty, warm wrinkles. Like waves. Wonderful waves. Then the waves washed my mind ashore For I didn't need to be in the water anymore. (Society and its kelp were quite welcomed to it!) Time reappeared, blossoming like a flower. And it finally dawned on me. I understood! I understood. From a distance The waves could be seen Gently lapping, Applauding, Clapping.
