Pain can be chronic Pain can be acute Pain can be throbbing Pain can be mild Pain can be for a lifetime Or for just a nanosecond Pain is a many-splendoured thing! When someone hates you You might end up in pain When you love someone You might end up in pain When people are indifferent You might end up in pain Pain is a many-splendoured thing! Pain can make you cry Pain can make you scream Pain can bring you down to your knees Pain can dull your brain Pain can drive you insane Pain can bring you to your senses Pain is a many-splendoured thing! Pain may whisper to you Pain may shout at you Pain may hide from you for years Then one day jump out yelling "Surprise!" Pain may come from pleasure (And vice versa) Pain is a many-splendoured thing!
