Riots

I was told and Am always still told when I ask Peace brotherhood and Love Are our second name. Then why? Why the smoke Rising from These burnt edifices? Why The stench of burnt human forms? What was the fault Of those innocent Young kids and Those women? Why hurl stones And mutilate people? All is Is it our peace? Our love? Intolerance shows Out from each Expression on us. Hatred written Clearly on Our visages. Are just a temple or A mosque The things we are fighting for ? not seeing that these riots kill those for whom the temple and mosque are being built. We need To wake up. To hard reality. Practicality. We are destroying Our civilization by our own Hands. Fear we embed in Young innocent hearts. Scared eyes Stare back Tears well up In lost eyes Tears of loss, sadness Plight. Mouths remain Speechless. Except for muffled cries Of pain. Nothing At least not positive Comes out of riots But we are mortals We will know not What we have lost. Until we are done with the riots….i know its verbose but this is the truth the current situation of my hometown where communal riots are going on just pray all of you that things get fine soon thanks Written February 28th, 2002 © on Feb 27 2002 08:15 PM PST   0 • 1
