How do I treat you ? Is there something I haven't got ? Or is it just you ? I seem to be working so hard To try to capture a piece of you, But it seems I am not off the starting blocks After the gun has gone. And now I start to walk Where before I might have run, And soon now I will stop to walk And turn away from you. So tell me now And tell me straight For though I will love you forever more I'll be able to love someone else. Have I given you enough time ? How much do you need I ask. For the past few months Have seemed so long I will not last much more. I do not ask And will not plead But your thoughts on me I so much need to know. And as I sit here writing I try to look you in the eye Try to pries the information, You've hidden from me. There are times I think the others are right When they say I am foolish. But they do not feel As I must feel Now. I miss you when you are not about And it seems all my poetry is yours. Am I too young to be this in love ? Are you too young to understand ? Please tell me.
