Bullying The Flies
By Ouijammin
Several spiders sitting on a sill Asked spider riddles as they drained their kill With mouths so small and voices so meek No human had ever heard them speak Diamond asked, as he slurped quite loudly And Linus answered and smiled proudly Pasha whispered a secret puzzle That Carmela solved with a merry guzzle Down below on the bathtub lining The brother of the prey heard the spiders dining He gnashed his mandibles and took to the sky And screamed, “ Clever spiders, Prepare to Die!” Carmela looked up trembling, “Trouble” Pasha hid behind a large soap bubble Linus spun a thread out of pure dread Only Diamond managed to keep a cool head Adrenaline pumping, the fly swooped down in low Across the windowsill a wind started to blow The wind blew the bubble trapping Pasha inside Legend says she cursed soap the whole time she died Carmela and Linus both witnessed the fray And decided to save pride for an auspicious day As the two deserters made a sluggish retreat The fly plunged from the sky and took fifteen of they’re feet Diamond looked up his eyes bleeding with hate And belched in sarcasm, “Was that your kin I ate?” The fly hovered in horror and Diamond launched a fine thread That was sharp as a needle and pierced the fly’s head. The spider chuckled cruelly at the fly who lay dead Then turned to see a shadow closing in on his head The black and white print was growing larger in size And hypnotized diamond through his prism-like eyes The newspaper read, New York Times Sunday Edition Under the title in blood was Diamond’s addition “ Massacre On Windowsill, Several Spiders Die!” And the moral of the story is don’t Bully the flies Written May 1st, 2001 © on Jun 03 2001 11:55 PM PST 0 • 1 • 14
