Like Tears Through Stained Glass Windows

She's been up all night, with tears in her eyes, crying because she feels she's failed again, at marriage, at motherhood, at being a daughter. The sun shines through blue stained glass windows, as a tear of sadness rolls down her cheek. She's been working two jobs, just to bring us here, and she can hardly wait to see our surprise... "King's Island" Adventure Park we're headed off to The sun shines through yellow stained glass windows, As a tear of happiness rolls down her cheek. He's late with his child support payment again, She can hardly make it, even working three jobs. How convenient his new wife and stepdaughter have everything, The sun shines through green stained glass windows, As a tear of envy rolls down her cheek. It's time to come home now, her mother says... Let your father and I help you out. We've always said we'll be there when you need us, The sun shines through red stained glass windows, As tears of love roll down her cheek. Her children have grown, and have children too, she sits back to ponder her life,it's ups and downs. Did she do a good enough job, was there more she could've done? The sun shines through clear glass windows, As tears of tranquility roll down her cheek. Written June 5th, 2001 © on Dec 26 2001 12:19 PM PST   18 • 0 • 1
